Ben is a partner and attorney-at-law at Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz in Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim, Germany. He acts as counsel to parties in complex disputes in domestic and international arbitration proceedings and also sits as arbitrator. His practice focuses on post M&A, shareholder and other corporate disputes as well as commercial disputes. He furthermore advises clients in the areas of corporate and commercial law and on issues of conflicts of laws and civil procedure. Ben is also an honorary professor at the University of Trier, Germany, where he teaches courses on international arbitration and international commercial law. He has authored numerous publications on international arbitration, litigation, conflicts of laws and corporate law.
From 2004 to 2009 Ben was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. His main research areas were private international law, European and international civil procedural law and international dispute settlement with an emphasis on international arbitration. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Cologne in 2008 and his master degree from the University of Oxford in 2004.
